The Center for Economic Strategy and Competitiveness is concerned with education and research in the fields of economic growth and development, political science and social policy.
The center seeks to promote greater awareness and understanding of these issues in Bulgaria and support educational and research efforts of students in affiliated institutions by appropriate means such as joint certificate programs, seminars, and research grants.
The ultimate aim of the center is to help develop competent and morally engaged leaders who are active contributors to economic strategy research, policy and practice in Bulgaria, the European Union and the world at large.
The center was established in 2008 as an independent non-profit organization. It offers a Certificate Program on Economic Growth and Development as a joint effort of Sofia University and Michael Porter’s Institute for Strategy and Competitiveness at Harvard Business School.
