Programs

The Center for Economic Strategy and Competitiveness is developing a number of academic and research programs in the fields of economic growth and development and political economy as well as a career placement and networking program for its members and alumni.

Academic Programs

The Center currently offers a two-course Economic Development Certificate Program affiliated with the Microeconomics of Competitiveness Network and accredited by the Sofia University Faculty of Economics and Business Administration.  Each student who successfully completes both courses in this certificate program will receive a Graduate Certificate from the Center for Economic Strategy and Competitiveness.  The courses follow the format, workload and ethics of Harvard Business School.  They are challenging academically, but very rewarding for the students that are able to complete the requirements of both courses. The Graduate Certificate from the Center for Economic Strategy and Competitiveness will provide access to Dr. Michael Porter’s Microeconomics of Competitiveness Worldwide Network.

Research Programs

The Center is in the process of developing a Summer Research Program for students and/or alumni of the Economic Development certificate program that will fund a number of summer research projects in the field.

The Center plans to establish a series of round-tables and conferences focused on current issues in the fields of economic development and political economy.
